Insulated Roman shades work best when mounted outside the window casement with an overlap of 2 inches on each side and an overlap of 4 inches on the top and 2 inches on the bottom.

• Outside-mounted insulated Roman shades:
a) with trim: Measure the width first, trim-to-trim.
b) without trim: allow for 2 inches overlap side-to-side; a 4" overlap at top of window, and a 2" overlap at window bottom

• Inside-mounted insulated Roman shades require a custom fit, and allow for some light leakage. For best results, measure the width at three points and use the smallest number.
